The Kinds Of Wedding Day Services You Will Need

Posted on July 23 2013

Once you start planning your big day, you may become overwhelmed by all the wedding day services you need. Odds are you can’t keep them straight, and will be more than happy to never think about them again! But where do you even begin? What services do you actually need for your wedding day? Below is a convenient list for you to refer to when you are planning your wedding . You may not need all of them, but you definitely need at least one of them!

Venue

You can’t get married unless you have a place to get married at. This means you need to check prices of and schedule dates with churches, parks, reception halls, city halls, hotels, or wherever you would like to get married. Some will not cost anything, and others may require special licenses, but you will have to contact somebody as soon as possible. This does not include possible separate locations for your reception.

Catering

If you’re having a reception, then you will need to hire some kind of catering service. Your guests will not be happy if they are not being fed! Decide what kind of food you will have. No matter what, it’s a good idea to make sure there’s a separate vegetarian entry just in case. Many catering services cost a wild array of money, so definitely make sure you set aside a good amount of budget for it. Good food will soothe the ails of bad music or even a bad venue.

Photography

While some couples save money by leaving disposable cameras around for guests to use, it’s still a good idea to hire a photographer to take some formal wedding photos. The kind of photographer you hire will depend on your location, your theme, and even your personality. It’s important that you get a photographer you think has both a good portfolio and a personality that gets along with yours.

DJ Or Band

For your reception, it’s always a good idea to have a good DJ that matches your personal style. Even better is a live band that will take your reception to the next acoustic level. If you have a themed wedding, you should get a musician that matches your theme. If you just want to get down and get funky, get a DJ that has a wide catalog of songs and isn’t afraid to speak to the audience so people get up on the dance floor.

Valet Parking

If you’re having hundreds of guests in a place with a small parking lot, you may need to hire a valet attendant or two to take care of all the cars coming in. Make sure you pick a reputable company with very little to no theft claims. You’re asking your guests to hand over their car keys to a complete stranger, so make sure they’re good strangers!

Planning a wedding is stressful, but should be easier with the above service list. Have a lot of fun, and good luck with your marriage!
